Services for the parents, guardians and sponsors of overseas students
Concerns Associated with Personal Wellbeing
Cultural differences, lack of information, language restrictions and unfamiliarity with formal UK processes are some of the more common reasons why overseas students sometimes suffer problems with their wellbeing. Common parental, guardian and sponsor concerns associated with the personal wellbeing of a student include:
- Concern that the student may be finding it difficult to settle within the UK.
- Concern that the student may not be able to access the information, advice and services that they need.
- Concern that the student may unknowingly be acting in ways which are illegal within the UK.
- Concern that the student may unwittingly be exposing themselves to health and/or safety risks.
